Guys (I swear my web stat shows there are at least two people reading my posts), I am migrating to another platform — Blogger. I want some flexibility in the layout, make some tweaks in the template/CSS, and have access to some more functionalities. This would be my last post here. If you have my blog bookmarked in your browser, please add this new one: http://ekstranghero.blogspot.com.
Oh, my new site is Web-2.0 utilizer.
I hope to see you there.
If you are wondering why there is a long queue of people in some parts of the mall, it’s maybe because of this: according to Inquirer.net, there is no winner yet for the PHP206,000,000 superlotto. (In case you got lost with the zeros, it’s 206 million pesos.)
Now, let me talk about chance and super lotto.
I computed the chance of a single ticket winning in the supperlotto and it’s 0.00000715112384201852%. If it is hard to imagine, well, look at this: If there are 100 people in your company, the chance that 1 of you will be absent today is around 0.0007151123842018520000000%. Hmmm… still hard to picture out, yeah? Here’s a better one. Given that chance (of winning in the superlotto), how many employees should there be so that there is only 1 person absent in any given day? Here it is: ~14,000,000 employees… 13,983,816 to be exact.
Math people, please correct me if I am wrong. (Oh there I am again! Assuming as if I have so many readers!
Hehehe.)
But even if that probability is soooooo small, I think I’ll try to buy a ticket later. I’ll just buy 1 ticket, and if I don’t win, then, that would be the last. On the other hand, if I win, then, that would be my next post here.
I was just thinking: which headline is more LIKELY to happen–
EKS wins PHP206M Superlotto; SHARES half to friend-bloggers
or
Jessica Alba files for divorce; seen with nonshowbiz former lover EKS
Let’s see.
For a change, I wish an all-out war instead of peace talks, ceasefire, and negotiations this Valentine’s Day.
And for the rest of the year, I wish peace, love, and hope for mankind.
[I knew it! I can’t hide my emo-ness behind a picture like that!]
Remember this…
Sometimes, the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason.
On a not so serious note: Here are some random stats I saw at the CIA World Factbook.
Sex ratio:
at birth: 1.05 male(s)/female
under 15 years: 1.04 male(s)/female
15-64 years: 1 male(s)/female
65 years and over: 0.76 male(s)/female
total population: 1 male(s)/female (2008 est.)
FACT: We started out being the with 0.04 manpower advantage over you girls. And all the while, I thought you girls outnumber us from the start (at birth onwards, I mean). For a population of 96,061,680 (2008 estimate), this 0.04 advantage says a lot! Hehehe. Then as time goes by, men die… faster than women. And at 65 years and above, we are outnumbered. Maybe at age 50, we are already outnumbered. I don’t know.
QUESTIONS/ASSESSMENTS: What made my species die faster than the female species? (Morbid!) Hehehe. War is probably a factor. I mean, there are more male soldiers than female right? (Does that mean men are more patriotic than women? Hahaha, peace ladies.) Also crime. There are more male criminals than female. (Good bye patriotism!)
Life expectancy at birth:
total population: 70.8 years
male: 67.89 years
female: 73.85 years (2008 est.)
FACT: Women live longer. Well, this is just a corollary of the first fact.
QUESTION/ASSESSMENT: If you single guys want to grow old with your lady partners together, and probably at the same age, choose a partner who is 5 years older than you are. Hehehe. (Deym, Jessica is just 28!)
Religions:
Roman Catholic 80.9%, (minus 1, hehehe) Muslim 5%, Evangelical 2.8%, Iglesia ni Kristo 2.3%, Aglipayan 2%, other Christian 4.5%, other 1.8%, unspecified 0.6%, none 0.1% (2000 census)
So, you think wars in the After Life are possible? I mean, all these religion (save for the 0.1% “NONE”) claim they will go to heaven.
